No Deductible Required for Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Morning and night photo of my eye shadow using Too Faced Shadow Insurance lid primer. Yes, the photos are two different colors (morning light vs. night) but the take away is the shadow and liner hasn’t moved at all!

Here we go again with more weird close-ups of my eyelids. These pictures are even stranger because you can only see one eye. Or maybe they’re less bizarre. Whatever. Hopefully they convey the AWESOMENESS that is Shadow Insurance by Too Faced Cosmetics.

This is an eyelid primer and goes on super smooth. It’s not thick like cream, more like lotion. A little dab will do ya. I put a little on my ring finger (that’s the one next to the pinkie if you are finger nomenclature challenged) and dab gently onto the entire eyelid up to the brow bone.

It makes your shadow go on easily. Blending is not a problem. And the best part? Eyeliner doesn’t creep up your lid or fade throughout the day. I was out for several hours in the hot sun on the day I took the “after” pictures. It lasted all day long and looks pretty much like my morning photo.

I got the “original” version which doesn’t really have a color. They also sell one that’s a color corrector (tones down redness), two that have a little color, and one that makes glittery eyeshadow last longer (whaaaaatttt????).

Too Faced Shadow InsuranceI paid $20 for it at Ulta, but had $3 in rewards so it was about the same cost as Amazon.

Finally, I have to thank my girlfriend for turning me onto this amazing product. I won’t name her, but you know who you are!

I Lost My Fiber Mascara Virginity to Cherry Blooms

Cherry Blooms eyes - before and afterI don’t know about you, but I am constantly in search of mascara to make my eyelashes longer. While my eyelashes are not super short, they are very straight. I use an eyelash curler and have found that most mascaras that claim to curl your lashes do work…but they curl them under, not up! Uh, not exactly the look I want.

I heard about fiber mascara and first bought one by L’Oréal (L’Oreal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara). It works pretty well – thickens, lengthens and doesn’t curl my lashes the wrong way. It’s affordable too. However, it doesn’t give me that ridiculous long lash look of Melissa Gorga (you Jersey Housewives fans will know what I mean).

So after some serious Google searching and reviewing, I decided to bite the bullet and buy Cherry Blooms. It ain’t cheap but it is sooooo worth it! Check out the freaky too close up photos of my eyes below! I should have taken a “normal” picture of my whole face…next time. I only put Cherry Blooms on my top lashes. I used the L’Oreal mascara on the bottom.

Removal of Cherry Blooms is easy peasy. I gently rubbed my lashes with warm water and the fibers easily slid off. Then I used my normal face cleanser to clean up the rest of my makeup.

So there you have it, my review of Cherry Blooms. Have you tried it? Love it? Hate it?

I put mascara on my left eye. One coat is noticeably different. Two coats really boosts the length. The third coat may have been gratuitous…nah!

Eyes with Cherry Blooms Mascara

So my lashes are not quite Real Housewives fake length, but pretty darn close. And why didn’t I get my whole face in the picture??!!
