Keeping It Cold with Zojirushi’s Stainless Steel Mug / Bottle

Zojirushi BottleThis is the best mug for keeping your drinks cold. I do not lie, I’ve tried them all (OK, that may be a bit of an exaggeration). It doesn’t “sweat” so the inside of your purse, bag or cup holder in your car won’t end up with water everywhere.

It’s designed to hold hot or cold beverages and keep them at that temperature for six hours. I can only attest to it keeping my water icy cold. Yes, I am that boring and only put water in it. In theory the materials shouldn’t pick up flavors from other beverages so you should be able to put coffee, tea, soda, whatever in it and not have any flavor seepage.

It’s made of stainless steel (there are some polypropylene components…I’m geeking out now, according to EWG it gets a score of one) and completely disassembles for easy cleaning. I love that it doesn’t have a straw and I feel like it’s easier to clean that other straw bottles.

As for durability, I’ve dropped mine a bunch of times and aside from a few small scuff marks, it’s in great condition. The outer coating hasn’t peeled. I hand wash all of the parts.

It is expensive, but I’m a firm believer of getting what you pay for…the price is definitely worth it.

I also bought one for J. I got her the cute little 10 oz bottle in pink and she adores it. She loves cold water and prefers it over her other straw bottles (which I hate washing).

The only downside is that the bottle I have only holds 16 oz. If I’m out all day, I normally drink all of the water before I get home. The good thing is that restaurants, theme parks or other places where they sell drinks will fill it with water from the soda fountain for free.

UPDATE: Zojirushi also makes a mug with a tea filter. I’m not a tea drinker, but I gave one to a friend. She thought it was really neat!
